The Importance of Using Bottle Recycling In Calgary

As per the reports, the inhabitants of America and Canada consume over 70 million plastic water bottles daily, covering up to $22 billion worth of bottles a year. But people are confused on the safety concerns that whether consuming from these bottles are safe or not. Again, only 17% of the overall bottles are recycled. So there lay an environmental concern everywhere.

The plastic water bottles can always be reused. But they need to be washed thoroughly with soap and water to eliminate bacteria and make it safer and must be allowed to dry before being refilled. But you need to recycle it after a few uses if it starts smelling or the water gives a funny taste.

The water preserved in bottles can cost up to 2500 times more than the tap water. There are a whole lot of bottled water brands which simply sell the filtered tap water. A gallon of pure bottled water may cost up to $3-$5 a gallon whereas a regular community tap water tested to be perfectly safe may cost about $2 per gallon. There are even a lot of tricks to eliminate the chlorine content in the water without getting it filtered. In one of the method you can just leave the water uncovered for a night and this will allow the chlorine to evaporate. This process is also used by the farmers to remove the chlorine in the irrigation water for the delicate plants.

The plastic bottles definitely have their own uses in places where it is impossible and impractical to use a permanent reusable water bottle. But it is always advisable to use a bottle which can be reused over and over again, for example a stainless steel or an aluminum reusable bottle which is much safer than the plastic ones.

But unfortunately, as per the recent reports only a certain percentage of the plastic water bottles get recycled which is even lesser than 20% of the entire junk. It however becomes the duty of the every citizen to get them to the recycling depots and get the needful processes done. Today a number of companies have been established to cater to the process of Bottle Recycling in Calgary. With the fact that most of the public places are not equipped with bottle recycle bins next to the trash cans, a lot of centers have been set up as the Bottle Depot in Calgary, with the aim of recycling as many plastic water bottles possible and heaving the load of the 60 million ones which are being thrown away daily.
